Shenkin, the first release from Iris Ell and Frida Melando, is a song for the tensely cinematic late-night walk back from a rave, when the crush of bodies gives way to feeling empty, lucid, and worn. Born during lockdown as a trans-Atlantic collaboration, it was first recorded during the summer of 2021 in Tel Aviv over a series of all-nighters where the pair played with new vocal rhythms and production styles. After years of intermittent collaboration, Shenkin is Ell and Melando's debut track, in which intimate vocals, brash bass, and plucked Oud build to a dizzying 80s dance sequence.
